This article is also available in Japanese: Read the Japanese version

In April 2026, someone rode a bicycle about 1,300 kilometers from Aomori Prefecture to Osaka Prefecture while streaming live.

That someone is CDawgVA, a YouTuber and streamer popular in the English-speaking world.

His agency writes his name in Japanese katakana as シードッグヴィエー.

This article looks at who he is, his channel's numbers, how that channel grew out of voice videos and finally his cycling charity event.

Subscriber and view counts are figures this site measured at around 7:54 p.m. JST on October 30, 2026.

CDawgVA: A YouTuber Who Started with His Voice

The description on his YouTube channel opens with a joke in which he praises himself in the third person:

“This guy is hilarious, his acting is on point and he's just a great guy.”

After that, he adds that he's “always up for most voice acting roles” and asks anyone interested to get in touch.

His agency's official GeeXPlus page describes him as “a content creator who in addition to being well-known on YouTube, is also famous for his voice acting and now also his streaming content”.

The agency's Japanese page adds two points (translated from the Japanese): he is also well known for his anime-character impressions, and he entertains viewers with projects he throws himself into physically.

GeeXPlus is a Tokyo-based creator-management company.

Apart from his stage name, the name Connor Colquhoun is also public.

It appears as Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun in a 2021 event notice from the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ), and the page was still up on October 30, 2026.

His age, on the other hand, wasn't given in his channel description, on his agency's page, in the FCCJ notice or in press reports.

That may be a bit of a letdown, but as far as we could check, we could not find out, and that's where we stop.

His birthplace isn't given in his official profile either.

His YouTube channel's country setting is the United Kingdom, but that's only a setting, so it can't tell us where he's from.

The Channel's Size and Upload Pace

As of October 30, 2026, the channel had 3.23 million subscribers and just over 504.91 million total views.

As of the same day, it had 449 public videos.

The oldest video still up is Do You Even Voice Act Podcast #1: Casting, from April 2014.

It's the first episode of a podcast about voice acting, which makes it plain that the channel's starting point was “voice”.

His busiest year for uploads was 2018, with 77 videos, and 2019 had 72. Both years work out to more than one video a week.

Uploads have dropped since then, to 12 videos in 2025. Averaged through October 30, the pace for 2026 comes to about one video every two months.

Median video length was about 12 minutes in 2018, compared with about 38 minutes in 2025.

As of October 30, 2026, his 10 most recent videos ran on the long side, from just over 24 minutes up to 1 hour 4 minutes, with a median of about 760,000 views. It seems fair to call this a channel where each video really gets watched.

Archives and highlights of his game streams go on his second channel, ConnorDawg.

That one is sizable too, with 1.58 million subscribers as of October 30, 2026.

From Voice Acting Videos to Life in Japan

When we counted by title on October 30, 2026, 53 videos contained the word “Voice”.

Of those, 32 fall in 2019 and 2020, which looks like the height of his voice projects.

The signature video of that period is I Paid Voice Actors To Dub JoJo Scene's With No Context, from November 2019.

The idea is to have voice actors dub scenes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure without telling them the context.

As of October 30, 2026, it had just over 7.51 million views, making it the most-watched video on the channel outside of Shorts.

That same month, CDawgVA reached a major turning point.

On November 21, 2019, he published a video titled So... I Moved To Japan. In the description, he wrote, “So yeah... I moved to Japan to make YouTube content.”

From here on, more and more of his videos had “Japan” in the title.

Counting by title on October 30, 2026, and leaving out collaborators' handles, there were 2 such videos in 2019 but 26 in 2021.

I Rented A Japanese Boyfriend For A Day, from June 2021, had just over 7.42 million views as of October 30, 2026. It's also one of the videos featured on his agency's page.

That said, we could not confirm from his channel description where he lives now.

Even so, the videos he published in 2026 included ones about Japanese lucky bags and Don Quijote. Projects set in Japan seem to have carried on into 2026.

About 1,300 km from Aomori to Osaka: “CYCLETHON”

A major project of CDawgVA's in recent years is CYCLETHON, in which he cycles through Japan while collecting donations.

The Japanese game-news site Inside says in an article (in Japanese; our translation) that the series is a charity event that started in 2022.

Donations are reported to go to the nonprofit Immune Deficiency Foundation.

The same article reports that the series began because his friend, the VTuber Ironmouse, is dealing with an immune disease.

2026's CYCLETHON 5 ran for two weeks, from April 5 to April 19.

He reportedly rode about 1,300 kilometers from the town of Oma in Aomori Prefecture to Osaka Prefecture, streaming it on Twitch.

Inside reports that donations passed about ¥40 million within 27 hours of the stream's start and had reached about ¥104.2 million as of April 14.

In its April 19 announcement, the sponsor Pocketpair said the event raised about $1.6 million (about ¥230 million), “setting a new record for the project”.

But CDawgVA himself, the organizer, wrote in his April 21 post on X that the amount raised was $1,475,000.

The two figures don't match, and we could not confirm why.

Both are published figures, but this site will use the amount the organizer himself wrote as its baseline.

The route ran from Aomori through Akita, Niigata, Toyama, Fukui and Kyoto prefectures, then on to Osaka.

So he spent two weeks streaming a journey along the Sea of Japan side of the country.

Working with Trash Taste and Abroad in Japan

CDawgVA is also one of the three hosts of the English-language podcast Trash Taste, along with The Anime Man and Gigguk.

We cover the show's format and its official channel's numbers in detail in our Trash Taste article.

In 2021, the FCCJ's notice presented the three as part of “the new wave of young YouTube commentators on Japan”.

That suggests they were drawing attention early on as English-language YouTubers in Japan.

His ties to Gigguk show up in the videos on his own channel, too.

The description of his September 2025 video I Tried Voice Directing Anime included a link to Gigguk's short anime Bâan.

We cover Bâan in our Gigguk article.

Another frequent collaborator is Chris Broad of Abroad in Japan.

As of October 30, 2026, 16 videos had the name Abroad in Japan in their titles. The oldest was published in April 2021.

It's fair to call this a long-running pairing.

His newest video as of October 30, 2026, was also a collaboration between the two, published on October 8, 2026.

The title is I Lost $2,000 in Japan's Most Insane Store. In the description he names the store as Donki, the nickname of the Don Quijote chain, and jokes about his wallet: “Today I destroy my wallet on all of Japan's favourite wacky item store Donki for the sake of a good video and some banter with @AbroadinJapan”.

We cover Chris in more detail in our Abroad in Japan article (in Japanese).

He started with voice videos, moved to Japan and in 2026 cycled from Aomori to Osaka.

From the voice videos to the Japan projects, you might say CDawgVA's channel still holds his whole journey since 2014.
